5月中旬寒風刺骨的星期天，起了個早往芝加哥郊區的Arlington Park，一睹期待已久的賽馬，當然還要順便試試手氣，小小的賭一把！
當天拿的是Chicago Tribune提供的優惠票，包含了入場券Lunch Box，一本Racing Guide，最重要的是，還有發給一人一張＄２的賭票，所以吃午餐盒的時候，每一個人都十分投入的研究了起來，雖然一開始有些搞不懂規則，大夥兒仍是討論的不亦樂乎，只是比起那些拿著厚厚一本筆記，神情專注的盯著電視作筆記的老手來說，我們很明顯的遜掉了 ^^"
原先本以為賽馬是一種跟高爾夫差不多無聊的運動，唯一對於賽馬美好的想像，只有奧黛麗赫本在電影《窈窕淑女》(My Fair Lady)裡的那一幕戲，只覺得實在叫人難忘，沒想到比賽真的開始之後，氣氛馬上炒熱起來，隨著馬愈來愈接近終點，互相的拉鋸，超越，看的大家情緒高張，忍不住要跳起來吶喊，結果就是，那天回家時嗓子都啞了...
那天總共賭了兩場，一輸一贏，最後換了＄３.８元彩金，心滿意足的打道回府！
